ਸੋਈ ਭਗਤੁ ਸੋਈ ਵਡ ਦਾਤਾ ॥
so-ee bhagat so-ee vad daataa.
He is the devotee; He is the Great Giver.
ਸੋਈ ਪੂਰਨ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਬਿਧਾਤਾ ॥
so-ee pooran purakh biDhaataa.
He is the Perfect Primal Lord, the Architect of karma.
ਬਾਲ ਸਹਾਈ ਸੋਈ ਤੇਰਾ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਵਣਾ ॥੧੨॥
baal sahaa-ee so-ee tayraa jo tayrai man bhaavnaa. ||12||
He is your help and support, since infancy; He fulfills your mind's desires. ||12||

The One is both the devotee and the great Giver.
The One is the perfect Maker, the shaper of how things come to be.
That One has been your helper since you were a baby, and quietly meets the deepest wishes of your heart.
The One who helped you as a baby is helping you still.
'Baal sahaa-ee' (helper since infancy) is the tender center: the One has been the constant support from the very beginning. The One is named as both devotee and Giver, an Ik Onkar collapse of every role into one.
