aagi-aa dookh sookh sabh keenay.
In His Will, He made all pain and pleasure.
amrit naam birlai hee cheenay.
How rare are those who remember the Ambrosial Naam, the Name of the Lord.
taa kee keemat kahan na jaa-ee jat kat ohee samaavnaa. ||11||
His value cannot be described. He is prevailing everywhere. ||11||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Both the hard days and the happy ones are shaped within the one flow.
How rare are those who know the sweet, life-giving Naam.
What the One is worth cannot be put into words, and the One fills every single place there is.
The hard days and the good days are both part of one larger flow.
'Aagi-aa dookh sookh sabh keenay' places both pain and pleasure inside the Hukam, the flow of existence, so neither is random. The One's worth is beyond words; the One is present everywhere ('jat kat ohee samaavnaa').
A Question to Sit With
Does it change a hard day to imagine it as part of something larger?
