In plain words

Every good thing people chase, and every amazing power they dream of,

is already tucked inside the treasure of the Name. A deep and settled peace is there too.

Does your heart long for every joy there is? Then meet the holy people and hold the One close.

The thing you are chasing everywhere may already be right inside you.
The deeper layer

Every treasure people dream of is already inside the Name.

The verse lists the biggest prizes people in old India hoped for. Chaar padaarath are the four great aims of life. Asat dasaa siDh are eighteen amazing powers. Na-o niDh are the nine treasures, a picture of having everything.

All of them, the verse says, are gathered inside naam niDhaan, the treasure of the Name. And with them comes sahj sukh, a calm, easy peace.

Think of a treasure chest in a video game. You spend hours hunting for gold coins and magic items. Then you open one chest and find it was all in there together.

So how do you open that chest? The last line tells you. Mil saaDhoo: meet the holy people, and keep the One close in your heart.

A Question to Sit With

What is something you searched far for, only to find close to home?
