salok mehlaa 3.
Shalok, Third Mehl:
sabhnaa kaa pir ayk hai pir bin khaalee naahi.
The One Lord is the Husband of all. No one is without the Husband Lord.
naanak say sohaaganee je satgur maahi samaahi. ||1||
O Nanak, they are the pure soul-brides, who merge in the True Guru. ||1||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
There is one Beloved for every heart; no one is left without that love.
Not a single soul is alone, for all belong to the same One.
Nanak says: pure and glad are the hearts that melt into the True Guru.
The same One loves every heart; not one is left out.
A shalok of the Third Mehl. A quietly radical line: the One is the Beloved 'of all', and 'no one is without' that love. This universality is the ground of the Vaar's inclusivity, no soul is excluded from belonging.
A Question to Sit With
How does it change your day to remember no one is unloved?
