The mind is churning with so many waves of desire. How can one be emancipated in the Court of the Lord?
ਜੇ ਰਾਚੈ ਸਚ ਰੰਗਿ ਗੂੜੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਅਪਾਰ ਕੈ ॥
jay raachai sach rang goorhai rang apaar kai.
Be absorbed in the Lord's True Love, and imbued with the deep color of the Lord's Infinite Love.

O Nanak, by Guru's Grace, one is emancipated, if the consciousness is attached to the True Lord. ||2||

In plain words

The mind can churn like water full of restless waves, wanting and wanting.

How does it grow still? By soaking in the deep, steady color of the One's love.

Nanak says: by the Guru's grace, when awareness rests on the True One, the churning settles into calm.

A churning mind grows calm not by force but by soaking in a deeper color.
The deeper layer

A shalok of the Third Mehl. The restless mind is a sea of waves (of desire). Freedom comes not by fighting the waves but by being dyed in the deep, fast color of the One's infinite love, an image of steady saturation replacing agitation.

A Question to Sit With

What helps settle your mind when it is full of restless wanting?
