The bumble bee intuitively and fearlessly dwells among the vegetation, flowers and fruits.

naanak tarvar ayk hai ayko ful bhirang. ||2||
O Nanak, there is only one tree, one flower, and one bumble bee. ||2||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The little bee moves easily and without fear among the leaves, the blossoms, the fruit.

It drinks from everything, at home everywhere it lands.

Nanak says: there is one tree, one flower, one bee, all of it the same single life.

Look closely enough and the many turn out to be one.
The deeper layer

A shalok of the Third Mehl. The bumble bee, unafraid and at ease among all the plants, is the free soul. Then all is one: 'one tree, one flower, one bumble bee', the seeming many are all the one reality. Fearlessness and oneness are joined.

A Question to Sit With

Where have you noticed that things which look separate are connected?
