You are walking along the river-bank, but the land is giving way beneath you.

Watch out! Your foot might slip, and you'll fall in and die. ||1||

In plain words

You are walking along a riverbank, and the ground beneath you is quietly washing away.

Be careful where you place your weight — soft ground cannot hold you up.

Build your footing on what can hold you.
The deeper layer

A Dakhanay shalok about impermanence. The riverbank looks solid, yet the water is carrying it away underneath. Build your life's footing on what lasts.

A Question to Sit With

What in your life feels solid and dependable?
