Dakhanay, Fifth Mehl:
ਆਗਾਹਾ ਕੂ ਤ੍ਰਾਘਿ ਪਿਛਾ ਫੇਰਿ ਨ ਮੁਹਡੜਾ ॥
aagaahaa koo taraagh pichhaa fayr na muhadrhaa.
Look ahead; don't turn your face backwards.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਿਝਿ ਇਵੇਹਾ ਵਾਰ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਹੋਵੀ ਜਨਮੜਾ ॥੧॥
naanak sijh ivayhaa vaar bahurh na hovee janamrhaa. ||1||
O Nanak, be successful this time, and you shall not be reincarnated again. ||1||

Keep your eyes on the road ahead; do not keep turning back.
Nanak says: make the most of this life, and you will not have to circle around again.
Keep facing forward; the road ahead is where your life is.
A Dakhanay shalok of encouragement. 'Do not turn your face backward' means do not stay stuck in regret. Live well now.
