My heart is cooled and soothed, chanting the True Name with my mouth. ||2||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

O my mother, the One has blessed me with a shining jewel.

My heart is cooled and soothed as I speak the True Name.

The right words, held with love, can cool a burning heart.
The deeper layer

A Dakhanay shalok. The 'jewel' is the Name; speaking it (simran) cools the fever of a restless heart. Chanting is framed warmly, as comfort.
