Fifth Mehl:
ਹਭ ਸਮਾਣੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਜਿਉ ਜਲ ਘਟਾਊ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ॥
habh samaanee jot ji-o jal ghataa-oo chandarmaa.
God's Light is permeating all, like the moon reflected in the water.
ਪਰਗਟੁ ਥੀਆ ਆਪਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ॥੨॥
pargat thee-aa aap naanak mastak likhi-aa. ||2||
He Himself is revealed, O Nanak, to one who has such destiny inscribed upon his forehead. ||2||

The One's light shines through everything, like the moon glowing in still water.
Nanak says, it reveals itself, all on its own, to the ready heart.
The light you are looking for is already reflected all around you.
A Dakhanay shalok. The moon in water is a favorite image: the One is not far off in the sky but reflected right here, in everything, waiting to be noticed by a still heart.
