Fifth Mehl:
ਕਥੜੀਆ ਸੰਤਾਹ ਤੇ ਸੁਖਾਊ ਪੰਧੀਆ ॥
kathrhee-aa santaah tay sukhaa-oo panDhee-aa.
The sayings of the Saints are the paths of peace.
ਨਾਨਕ ਲਧੜੀਆ ਤਿੰਨਾਹ ਜਿਨਾ ਭਾਗੁ ਮਥਾਹੜੈ ॥੨॥
naanak laDh-rhee-aa tinnaah jinaa bhaag mathaaharhai. ||2||
O Nanak, they alone obtain them, upon whose foreheads such destiny is written. ||2||

The words of the saints are quiet roads to peace.
Nanak says: those whose foreheads carry that blessing find them and walk them.
The words of the saints are roads that lead to peace.
A Dakhanay shalok. The sayings of the saints (sant) are pathways; follow them and you arrive at peace. Finding them is itself a gift, the blessing 'written on the forehead.'
