Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
The One fills the mountains and oceans, the deserts and forests, the orchards and hidden caves,
the deep places and the wide sky and every single heart.
Nanak says: look, it is all strung together on one thread, like beads on a single string.
Everything that exists is strung on a single thread.
A Dakhanay shalok and one of the Vaar's clearest images of Ik Onkar: everything that exists — every mountain, every heart — is strung on a single thread. Nothing is separate; one string runs through it all.
