Why would I need to come into this world again?
Coming into the world and leaving it happen by the One's Hukam — the flow that carries everything.
When I understand the Hukam, I merge into the One.
Why come again? Coming and going happen by the Hukam, and understanding it is how you blend into the One.
This is the "pause" line, the rahao, at the center of the shabad. Bahur ham kaahay aavhigay — why would I come again? Aavan jaanaa hukam tisai kaa — coming and going happen by the Hukam. The Hukam is the One's will, the flow of all that is.
Hukmai bujh samaavhigay — when I understand that flow, I blend into the One.
Think of a leaf on a river. If it fights the water, it spins and gets stuck. If it rests on the current, it moves along easily. To understand the flow is to be at home in it, not tossed about by it.
