Those who forsake the True Guru, and attach themselves to duality - what will they do when they go to the world hereafter?

jam pur baDhay maaree-ah bahutee milai sajaa-ay. ||3||
Bound and gagged in the City of Death, they will be beaten. They will be punished severely. ||3||

In plain words

When I turn away from the Guru and get pulled in two directions, I lose my footing.

Living split like that leaves the heart tangled and unsteady.

The kind thing is to turn back toward the light, which is always waiting.

Turning from the light leaves us unsteady, but the light is always waiting.
The deeper layer

Leaving the Guru for doojaa, duality, leaves the heart split and unsteady, and that path carries hard consequences. The remedy is turning back; the light is always waiting.

A Question to Sit With

What helps you turn back toward what steadies you when you drift?
