One who is blessed with the medicine of the GurMantra, the Name of the Lord, O servant Nanak, does not suffer the agonies of reincarnation. ||5||2||

In plain words

When grace opens up, the wall of doubt comes down, and the heart gladly accepts the Guru.

The Guru gives the Naam like a medicine. Nanak says, with it, no ache of wandering remains.

The Name works like medicine - the doubt-wall comes down and the ache eases.
The deeper layer

When grace opens the door, doubt falls away, and the Name heals us.

Karam khuli-aa means grace opens up. Then parh-daa, the curtain of doubt, is torn down. The heart lovingly accepts the Guru's way. The Guru gives the Name as avkhadh, a medicine. Raag Maaroo often sings of hard things, and here it sings of healing.

Think of a fever breaking in the night. You wake up and feel like yourself again. Guru Arjan signs the verse as Nanak. He says whoever takes this medicine is spared the ache of wandering from life to life.

A Question to Sit With

What is something that works like medicine for your worries?
