The one who tied me up, has released me; what can the Watchman of Death do to me now? ||2||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Since I joined the Sangat, the ones who were watching me have gone away.
The One who held me has let me go, so even the watchman of Death has no hold on me now.
When you are free, there is nothing left to fear.
Since joining the Sangat, the watchers are gone. The One who held the rope has let go, and nothing that once loomed has any hold left.
Saadhoo sang is the Sangat — people gathered together to remember the One. Kotvaar, the watchman, is an old picture of Death standing guard. For a heart that has been set free, even that watchman has nothing left to do.
