The Load Set Down

chookaa bhaaraa karam kaa ho-ay nihkarmaa.
The load of my karma has been removed, and I am now free of karma.
saagar tay kandhai charhay gur keenay Dharmaa. ||3||
I have crossed the world-ocean, and reached the other shore; the Guru has blessed me with this Dharma. ||3||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The heavy load I was carrying has been set down, and I feel light.

I have crossed the wide, rough water and reached the safe shore. The Guru gave me this good path.

A heavy load, once set down, leaves you feeling light.
The deeper layer

The "load of karma" set down and the world-ocean crossed: the felt sense of a burden lifted and safe ground finally reached.

A Question to Sit With

What is one weight you would love to set down?
