Verse 4 of 5

Never Coming, Never Going

ਆਵੈ ਨ ਜਾਵੈ ਸੰਗੇ ਸਮਾਵੈ ਪੂਰਨ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਕਾਮੁ ਹੇ ॥੪॥
aavai na jaavai sangay samaavai pooran jaa kaa kaam hay. ||4||
He does not come or go, and He is always with us. His actions are perfect. ||4||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The One never arrives and never departs — always, quietly, here.

And everything the One does is complete, just as it should be.

Always, quietly, the One is here.
The deeper layer

Aavai na jaavai means the One does not come and does not go. Sangay samaavai: the One is always right with us.

The One is not like a visitor who arrives and then leaves. The One is more like the air around us, there before we even notice it. Pooran jaa kaa kaam: everything the One does is pooran, complete and whole.

A Question to Sit With

Where do you sense a quiet presence that's always near?
