Light Melting into Light

gurmukh langhay say paar pa-ay sachay si-o liv laa-ay.
The Gurmukhs reach the shore beyond, lovingly focusing on the True Lord.
aavaa ga-on nivaari-aa jotee jot milaa-ay.
Their comings and goings are ended, and their light merges into the Light.
gurmatee sahj oopjai sachay rahai samaa-ay. ||3||
Following the Guru's Teachings, intuitive peace wells up within them, and they remain merged in the True Lord. ||3||

In plain words

Those who turn toward the Guru reach the far shore, their love fixed on what is true.

Their restless coming and going settles, and the light inside them melts into the great Light, like a small flame joining the sun. A natural, easy peace rises up and stays.

Turned toward the Guru, your small light joins the great Light.
The deeper layer

The gurmukh crosses; aavaa-gaon, the restless coming and going, ends; and jotee jot milaae, light merging in Light, is the signature image of union. Sahj, natural ease, wells up on its own.

A Question to Sit With

When have you felt a calm that seemed to come on its own?
