You are the Merciful Giver, above the heads of all. Day and night, You give gifts, and take care of all. ||2||

In plain words

Sometimes I forget all the good You have given and I lose my way a little. What should I do then?

This: remember that You are endlessly kind, watching over everyone. Day and night the gifts keep coming, and You take care of us all.

When you lose your way, remember: you are still being cared for, day and night.
The deeper layer

Even when you forget, the Giver keeps giving.

Tay gun visar ga-ay — I have forgotten Your goodness. The speaker feels foolish and lost, mai ba-uraa, and asks what to do now.

The answer is to look up. Too daataa da-i-aal sabhai sir — You are the kind Giver, over everyone. Ahinis daat samaar karay — day and night, You give and take care of all.

Think of a parent who makes breakfast every morning, even on the days nobody says thank you. The care keeps coming, whether anyone remembers it or not.

A Question to Sit With

What helps you find your way back when you feel a little lost?
