The Kind of Wonder That Fills the Whole Heart

ta-o dayvaanaa jaanee-ai jaa bhai dayvaanaa ho-ay.
He alone is known to be insane, when he goes insane with the Fear of God.
He recognizes none other than the One Lord and Master. ||2||

In plain words

This happy fullness grows from deep awe at the One.

When wonder fills me so completely, everything else grows quiet.

There is only One I am turning toward, in all things.

Deep wonder is so full it quiets everything that is not love.
The deeper layer

The good kind of "crazy" is being crazy with bhai. Bhai often means fear, but here it means awe. Awe is the "wow" you feel looking up at a sky full of stars. It is the same wonder we hear in the word Waheguru.

That wonder rearranges a whole life around the One. Aykee saahib baahraa doojaa avar na jaanai ko-ay: such a person knows no one besides the one Master.

That is not a narrow way of seeing. It means seeing that everything is part of the same One. Awe is the doorway to that seeing.

A Question to Sit With

What fills you with so much wonder that everything else goes quiet?
