The Lord's Praises are pearls, gems and diamonds. Singing His Praises, my mind and body are drenched with His Love. ||2||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
The Guru is a clear sacred pool, and I am a swan who loves to swim in it.
Its waters hold treasures beyond counting — jewels and gems everywhere I look.
Singing in praise and wonder, I gather pearls, and my whole self grows soaked through with love.
In the pool of the Guru, praise is the pearl worth gathering.
The swan (hans) in the sacred pool (sarvar) is a beloved Gurbani image: the seeker who knows how to find the true jewels — the praises of the One — among ordinary waters. Singing (har jas gaavat) soaks body and mind in love.
