ਖੰਡੇ ਧਾਰ ਗਲੀ ਅਤਿ ਭੀੜੀ ॥
khanday Dhaar galee at bheerhee.
This path is very narrow, like the sharp edge of a sword.
ਲੇਖਾ ਲੀਜੈ ਤਿਲ ਜਿਉ ਪੀੜੀ ॥

When his account is read, he shall be crushed like the sesame seed in the mill.

maat pitaa kaltar sut baylee naahee bin har ras mukat na keenaa hay. ||10||
Mother, father, spouse and child - none is anyone's friend in the end. Without the Lord's Love, no one is liberated. ||10||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
The way home can feel as narrow as the edge of a blade — steady, careful steps matter.
In the very end, none of the things we lean on outside can walk the last stretch with us.
Even those we love most cannot make this particular journey for us. Only love for the One goes all the way — so let that love be your ground.
On the last narrow stretch, love for the One is the ground beneath your feet.
Khanday Dhaar galee at bheerhee — the lane is as narrow as a sword's edge. Each step needs care. Mother, father, spouse and child are precious, and still none of them can make the final journey for us. Har ras, love for the One, goes all the way.
A Question to Sit With
What is something only you can do for yourself, no matter how much others love you?
