Dharahu vichhunay Dhaahee runnay.
Separated from the Primal Lord, they loudly weep and wail.
mar mar janmeh muhlat punnay.
They die and die, only to be reborn, when their time has passed.
jis bakhsay tis day vadi-aa-ee mayl na pachhotaa-idaa. ||13||
He blesses those whom He forgives with glorious greatness; united with Him, they do not regret or repent. ||13 |
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
When a heart feels far from its Source, it aches deeply and longs to return.
Round and round it wanders, still searching for the way back.
But the moment the One reaches out in kindness and lifts it up, it comes home for good, and there is nothing left to regret.
No matter how far the heart has wandered, kindness can lift it home.
'Dhaahee runnay' is loud weeping: the ache of a heart far from its Source, wandering through birth after birth. Grace turns it around. The One who forgives lifts the heart home, and that union leaves nothing to regret.
A Question to Sit With
