Verse 4 of 17

Bathing in the Pool of Truth

sunnahu sapat sarovar thaapay.
From this Primal Void, the seven seas were established.
jin saajay veechaaray aapay.
The One who created them, Himself contemplates them.
tit sat sar manoo-aa gurmukh naavai fir baahurh jon na paa-idaa. ||4||
That human being who becomes Gurmukh, who bathes in the pool of Truth, is not cast into the womb of reincarnation again. ||4||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Out of the stillness the seven seas were set in place.

The One who made them watches over them.

And whoever turns toward the Guru and bathes in the pool of truth comes home, never lost in endless wandering again.

Bathe your heart in truth, and you find your way home.
The deeper layer

The 'sat sar' is the pool of truth. Whoever bathes there as Gurmukh comes home, no longer wandering from birth to birth.

A Question to Sit With

What is a calm, clean place, inside or out, where you feel renewed?
