The Gurmukh is immortal, untouched by pleasure and pain. He obtains the home of his own inner being. ||8||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Out of the stillness the One made both night and day.
It made beginnings and endings, happy times and hard times.
And the heart turned toward the Guru stays steady through the ups and downs, finding a home in its own deepest self.
Rooted in the One, you stay steady through good days and hard days.
'Amar ateeta': untouched, at ease, above pleasure and pain. 'Nij ghar' is one's own true home, found within. The Gurmukh meets both joy and sorrow with the same steadiness.
A Question to Sit With
How do you try to stay steady on both good days and hard days?
