Worthy of the Throne

ਤਖਤਿ ਬਹੈ ਤਖਤੈ ਕੀ ਲਾਇਕ ॥

Following the Guru's Teachings, he subdues the five demons, and becomes the Lord's foot soldier.
ਆਦਿ ਜੁਗਾਦੀ ਹੈ ਭੀ ਹੋਸੀ ਸਹਸਾ ਭਰਮੁ ਚੁਕਾਇਆ ॥੧੪॥
aad jugaadee hai bhee hosee sahsaa bharam chukaa-i-aa. ||14||
He has existed from the very beginning of time and throughout the ages; He exists here and now, and will always exist. Meditating on Him, skepticism and doubt are dispelled. ||14||

In plain words

The one who sits on the throne is the one who has become worthy of it.

Following the Guru's teaching, they master the five restless pulls inside and become a brave helper of the One.

The One was here before all beginnings, is here now, and always will be, and knowing this, worry and doubt melt away.

The crown goes to the one who has learned to steady their own heart.
The deeper layer

The five (panch) are the restless pulls: wanting, anger, greed, clinging, and pride. Mastering them is the one battle Maaroo calls for, the inner one, and the one who masters them becomes paa-ik, a brave helper of the One. Aad jugaadee hai bhee hosee names the One across all time, and with that, sahsaa bharam (worry and doubt) dissolves.

A Question to Sit With

Which restless pull inside you are you learning to steady?
