O Nanak, meditate forever on the Naam, and cross over the terrifying world-ocean. ||4||6||

In plain words

A person comes to know the ways of the mind by understanding the Word and thinking it over.

Nanak says: Remember the Naam always, and you will cross over the huge, frightening ocean of the world.

Keep the Naam close, and you cross to the far shore.
The deeper layer

Thinking over the Word, you come to know your own mind, and the Naam carries you across.

Is man kee bidh man hoo jaanai: the mind comes to know its own ways, boojhai sabad veechaar, by understanding and reflecting on the Shabad. Then Nanak's close: remember the Naam always and cross the bhav saagar, the great ocean of the world, with its waves of worry and wanting. The Naam is the boat that reaches the far shore.
