I place my mind, body and breath of life in offering before Him; O Nanak, self-conceit is gone. ||4||7||

In plain words

Wherever I look, there I see the One. This understanding came through the Guru's teaching.

I place my mind, my body and my breath of life before the One as an offering.

Nanak says: my pride is gone.

Wherever you look, there is the One.
The deeper layer

Once your eyes are opened, you see the One everywhere.

Jah jah daykhaa tah ayko so-ee — wherever I look, there is the One. Ih gurmat buDh paa-ee — this understanding came through the gurmat, the Guru's teaching. It is like learning a new word and then hearing it everywhere. It was always there. Now you notice.

Man tan paraan Dharee tis aagai — I place my mind, body and breath before the One, like an offering. Then Nanak says the aap goes — the proud "me first" part of us. What is left is part of something far larger.

A Question to Sit With

Where have you looked closely and found something wonderful you had not noticed before?
