I am the slave of that humble being, who is blessed by the Grace of the Lord, Har, Har.

Meeting with the Lord's humble servant, peace is obtained; all the pollution and filth of evil-mindedness is washed away. ||2||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

I am the servant of the humble person the One blesses with kindness, as if I were bought at the market.

Meeting the One's humble servant brings peace, and all the dirt of bad thinking is washed away.

Being near a grace-filled heart rinses your own mind clean.
The deeper layer

Belonging to someone blessed by grace brings peace and clears the mind.

Tis jan kay ham haat bihaajhay: I am bought at the market by that person, the one the One blesses. It is a picture of glad, humble belonging. Har jan ka-o mili-aaN sukh paa-ee-ai: meeting the One's humble servant, peace comes. Sabh durmat mail harai: all the dirt of durmat, crooked thinking, is washed away.

Think of how one calm friend in a noisy room can settle everyone. Being near such a person rinses the mind clean.

A Question to Sit With

Who makes you feel more peaceful just by being around them?
