Servant Nanak gazes upon the Lord and is at peace; The hunger of his body is totally satisfied. ||4||3||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Only the one who keeps this love in the mind knows what it is.
Nanak says: I, the servant, gaze on the One and find peace, and all the hunger of my body is satisfied.
This kind of love is known by living it.
This love is known by living it.
Jin ayh pareet laa-ee so jaanai: the one who sets this love in place knows it, kai jaanai jis man dharai, and so does the one who holds it in the mind. Love is like swimming. Reading about water is one thing; being in it is another.
Jan naanak har daykh sukh paavai: Nanak, the servant, sees the One and is at peace. Sabh tan kee bhookh tarai: every hunger of the body is stilled.
