Wealth No Thief Can Steal

har Dhan banjahu har Dhan sanchahu jis laagat hai nahee chor. ||1||
Deal only in the wealth of the Lord, and gather only the wealth of the Lord. No thief can ever steal it. ||1||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Trade only in the wealth of the One, and gather only the wealth of the One.

No thief can ever steal it.

The riches of the Name are the one kind of wealth no thief can ever steal.
The deeper layer

The one wealth no one can steal is the Naam, so trade in it and save it up.

Har Dhan banjahu har Dhan sanchahu means trade in the One's wealth, and save up the One's wealth. That wealth is the Naam. Jis laagat hai nahee chor: no thief can touch it.

Money can be stolen, spent or lost. A phone can be dropped in a lake. But the Naam, once it lives in you, stays yours. It is the one treasure the soul carries onward.

A Question to Sit With

What is something valuable to you that no one could ever take away?
