Everything Belongs To You

Hail to the Lord of the Universe, God, our Saving Grace; He judges and saves the mortal beings.

jaytee hai taytee tujh hee tay tumH sar avar na ko-ee. ||2||
All that is, belongs to You. No one else is equal to You. ||2||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Hail to the One, Lord of the Universe, our Protector. The One keeps us safe and weighs what we do.

All that is belongs to You. No one is equal to You.

When everything already belongs to the One, you can set your heavy load down.
The deeper layer

Everything that exists belongs to the One, who protects you and has no equal.

Jai jagdees: hail to jagdees, the Lord of the Universe. Rakhvaaray: the Protector, the saving grace. Raakhai parkhai: the One protects and weighs, saving and setting right. When everything is the One's, the ego's sense of owning quietly dissolves, and a heavy load can be set down.

A Question to Sit With

What would feel lighter if you stopped trying to hold it all up alone?
