You Alone, And The Pride That Washes Off

False is the pride of man. True is Your glorious greatness.

But if the mortal serves his True Guru, his coming into the world is judged to be worthwhile.

And if he eradicates egotism from within himself, then how can he be judged?

The self-willed manmukh is lost in the darkness of emotional attachment, like the man lost in the wilderness.

Countless sins are erased, by even a tiny particle of the Lord's Name. ||11||

In plain words

O True One, needing nothing from anyone, You alone are my Master.

You Yourself are everything. Who else could I count?

Human pride is false. Your greatness is true.

You made coming and going, and so You made the world full of life.

Whoever serves their own True Guru, their coming into the world counts.

If ego — the feeling of being a separate self — leaves from inside, what score is left to keep?

The one who follows only their own mind is lost in the dark of clinging, like someone lost in a forest.

Even one tiny grain of the Naam wipes away countless wrongs.

Showing off washes off; what is true holds.
The deeper layer

Only the One is true and needs nothing; human pride is false, and one grain of the Naam washes away countless wrongs.

This is the eleventh pauri. Sachaa vayparvaahu: the True One who needs no one's approval. Maanas koorhaa garab: human pride is false and does not last. The manmukh, the one who follows only their own mind, is like someone lost in a dark forest. When haumai, ego, goes, there is nothing left to judge.

A Question to Sit With

Where in your life are you performing, and where are you simply yourself?
