All sorts of jewels and gems, diamonds and rubies, shine forth from their foreheads.

naanak jo parabh bhaani-aa sachai dar sohann. ||2||
O Nanak, those who are pleasing to God, look beautiful in the Court of the Lord. ||2||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Jewels and gems, diamonds and rubies, all seem to shine from their foreheads.

Nanak says: those who please the One look beautiful at the True One's door.

The beauty that lasts is the kind you cannot buy.
The deeper layer

Those who please the One shine as if jewels glowed on their foreheads.

A salok of the Fifth Mehl, Guru Arjan. The jewels picture an inner light: jo prabh bhaani-aa, those who please the One, sohan, look beautiful at the True door. The beauty is love and good character, not ornaments.

A Question to Sit With

Think of someone who seems to shine; what is it about them?
