In plain words

Acting without seeing makes the mind blind, and a blind mind makes the whole body blind.

What good is patching with mud, when even a dam of stone gives way?

The dam has burst. There is no boat, no raft, and the water is too deep to measure.

Nanak says: without the True Name, crowds and crowds of people have gone under.

Build your life on something the flood cannot wash away.
The deeper layer

A life built without the True Name is like a dam of mud in front of a flood.

Andhee kammee andh man: acting without looking dims the mind, and the dim mind dims everything the body does. Chikarh laa-i-ai ki-aa thee-ai: what good is mud plaster, when even a dam of stone can break? When the dam bursts, bandh tutaa, there is no boat and no tulhaa, no raft, and the water is too deep to measure.

Without sachay naam, the True Name, many have gone under. In Malaar, the raag of rain and rising rivers, the True Name is the one thing that holds when the water comes.

A Question to Sit With

What in your life feels solid enough to hold when everything else is moving?
