Each and every one is judged. In the flow of Your will, You lead us on.
The judging is in Your hands, O One. You are dear to my mind.
Death comes, binds a person, and leads them away, and no one can keep them back.
Old age, the bully, climbs up on the shoulders and dances there.
The True Guru is the ship, the boat. Climb aboard, and the True One will keep you safe.
The fire of wanting blazes like an oven, burning night and day.
The trapped bird pecks at the grain. Only in the flow of the One's will does it go free.
Whatever the Maker does will happen. What is false will run out.
Time moves on for everyone. The Guru is the boat that carries you safely across.
Sir sir ho-ay nibayrh hukam chalaa-i-aa: every life is weighed, and the hukam, the flow of the One's will, moves everything along. Tayrai hath nibayrh: the judging rests in the One's hands, and that One is dear.
Kaal and jar, death and old age, come to every body; no one can hold them off. This is said plainly and without panic. Satgur bohith: the True Guru is the ship. The fire of wanting burns day and night, and a person pecks at it like a trapped bird at grain. Freedom comes in the One's will, and what is false runs out on its own.
What would change if you trusted that the outcome rests in kind hands?
