Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
You Yourself are in everything. You Yourself made all that is made.
Without You there is no other at all. You fill every place.
Only You know how You are and how vast You are. Only You can tell Your worth.
You cannot be seen, cannot be sensed, cannot be reached. You are shown through the Guru's teaching.
Deep inside there is not-knowing, pain and doubt. The Guru's wisdom takes them away.
The one You join to Yourself, in Your kindness, keeps the Naam in mind.
You are the Creator, the first Being, beyond reach, spread through every place.
O True One, whatever You link a person to, to that they are linked. Nanak says: I sing Your praises.
The One made everything and fills everything. The Guru's wisdom clears the fog inside.
Toon aapay aap vartadaa aap banat banaa-ee: You are in everything, and You made all that is made. TuDh bin doojaa ko nahee: there is no other. The One is alakh and agochar, beyond seeing and sensing, and is shown through the Guru's teaching. Gur gi-aan gavaa-ee: the Guru's wisdom clears away not-knowing, pain and doubt.
This is the last pauri of the Vaar, number 28. After it the scribe wrote sudh, "correct," a mark that the copy was checked. Jis kirpaa karahi tis mayl laihi: the One draws close whoever the One chooses in kindness, and that one keeps the Naam in mind.
What old fog inside you might be gently lifting, without you forcing it?
