A Loving Heart Melts Like a Drop Into the Sea

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜਨ ਜਪਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਲਲ ਸਲਲੇ ॥
har har agam agochar su-aamee jan jap mil salal sallay.
Our Lord and Master, Har, Har, is inaccessible and unfathomable. Meditating on Him, His humble servant merges with Him, like water with water.
har kay sant mil raam ras paa-i-aa ham jan kai bal ballay. ||1||
Meeting with the Lord's Saints, I have obtained the sublime essence of the Lord. I am a sacrifice, a sacrifice to His humble servants. ||1||

In plain words

A heart that loves the One melts into it like a drop of water blending into water.

Meeting good, kind people, I taste that sweetness — and I'm so grateful for them.

A loving heart melts into the good like a drop of water blending into the sea.
The deeper layer

The union image the whole tradition loves: jio jal mil jal — the devotee "merges with Him, like water with water." A drop returning to the sea loses nothing and is fully home. And it happens through good company — "meeting the Lord's Saints, I obtained the sublime essence." Gratitude overflows: "I am a sacrifice to His humble servants." For a child: a loving heart melts into the good like a drop of water into the sea — and good company helps you taste that.

A Question to Sit With

What do you imagine a raindrop feels as it joins the whole ocean?
