In plain words

Greed can go a bit wild inside us, tugging us every which way and spoiling things.

But wisdom is like a bright blade that cuts right through it and frees us.

Greed can go a bit wild inside us — but wisdom is like a bright blade that cuts through it and sets us free.
The deeper layer

This one says: greed can run wild inside us, and wisdom cuts through it and sets us free.

Lobh lahar sabh su-aan halak hai — "the waves of greed are like wild dogs." Lobh means greed. Its madness "ruins everything."

Then the news reaches the Master's court, and "the Guru took up the sword of spiritual wisdom" and cut the greed down. Think of wanting every sticker in the shop, and feeling grumpy with any you don't get. Then a wise thought comes: "I already have plenty." That thought is like a bright blade. It cuts through the wanting, and you feel free again.

A Question to Sit With

What wild, grabby feeling would you like wisdom to gently cut through?
