The One Shabad, the Word of the One God, is prevailing everywhere. All the creation came from the One Lord.

O Nanak, the Gurmukh is united in union. When the Gurmukh goes, he blends into the Lord, Har, Har. ||5||6||

In plain words

One Word, one Lord, is at work everywhere. All creation comes from the One.

Nanak says: the one who faces the Guru is joined in union. Facing the Guru, they go and blend into the One, Har, Har.

Everything came from One, and the One who turns homeward blends back in.
The deeper layer

Everything came from the One, and it all returns to the One.

Ayko sabad ayko parabh vartai: one Word, one Lord, running through everything. Sabh aykas tay utpat: all creation came from the One. The whole shabad gathers into this.

At the end, the gurmukh, the one who turns toward the Guru, jaa-ay ralai, goes and blends back in. Think of a wave on the ocean. For a moment it rises and looks like its own thing. Then it settles and remembers it was always the ocean.

A Question to Sit With

If everything came from a single Source, what does that say about how connected things are?
