Prabhaatee, Fifth Mehl:
ਸਗਲੇ ਦੂਖ ਮਿਟੇ ਸੁਖ ਦੀਏ ਅਪਨਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਾਇਆ ॥
saglay dookh mitay sukh dee-ay apnaa naam japaa-i-aa.
Eradicating all my pains, He has blessed me with peace, and inspired me to chant His Name.
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਅਪਨੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਏ ਸਗਲਾ ਦੁਰਤੁ ਮਿਟਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
kar kirpaa apnee sayvaa laa-ay saglaa durat mitaa-i-aa. ||1||
In His Mercy, He has enjoined me to His service, and has purged me of all my sins. ||1||

In plain words

The One wiped away all my pains and gave me peace, and led me to remember the One's own Naam.

In kindness, the One joined me to the One's service, and wiped away all my wrongs.

Being given good work to do can itself be a kind of healing.
The deeper layer

When the One is kind, pain lifts and peace comes in.

Saglay dookh mitay sukh dee-ay: all my pains were wiped away, and peace was given. And the One led me to keep repeating the Naam.

Then comes sayvaa laa-ay: the One joined me to service. Sayvaa means helping others with no reward in mind. The verse shows that being given good work to do is part of the healing. Think of a gloomy day that turns around when someone asks for your help. Saglaa durat mitaa-i-aa: all my wrongs were wiped away, and the heaviness was cleared.

A Question to Sit With

Have you noticed how helping with something can quietly make your own worries feel lighter?
