Ever fresh, ever new

ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਨਵੇ ॥

They sing the Glories of God, continually, continuously, forever fresh and new.
ਲਖ ਚਉਰਾਸੀਹ ਜੋਨਿ ਨ ਭਵੇ ॥
lakh cha-oraaseeh jon na bhavay.
They do not wander in the 8.4 million incarnations.
ਈਹਾਂ ਊਹਾਂ ਚਰਣ ਪੂਜਾਰੇ ॥

Here and hereafter, they worship the Lord's Feet.

Their faces are radiant, and they are honored in the Court of the Lord. ||3||

In plain words

They sing the praises of the One, always and always, and it stays fresh and new every time.

They do not wander through the 8.4 million kinds of life.

Here and in the world beyond, they honor the feet of the One.

Their faces shine, and they are honored in the True Court.

Something you love can feel brand-new every single time you return to it.
The deeper layer

Singing about the One stays fresh and new every single time.

Gun gaavai nit nit nit navay means "they sing the One's praises, ever, ever, ever new." Think of your favorite song. You've heard it a hundred times, and it still makes you smile. Living remembrance is fresh like that.

Lakh cha-oraaseeh jon na bhavay means "they don't wander through the 8.4 million kinds of life." That is the old picture of being born again and again. Its heart is simple: the restless searching stops.

Eehaa oohaa charan poojaaray means "here and there, they honor the One's feet." And mukh oojal saachay darbaaray: "their faces shine in the True Court." Oojal means bright. Darbaar means a royal court. Their faces glow, and they are welcomed with honor.

A Question to Sit With

What is something you never get tired of, no matter how many times you do it?
