In plain words

There is only One. And the One is found by the True Guru's grace — a gift that is always here, waiting for an open heart.

By the Guru's grace, look and see: the Temple of the One is right here with you.

You find that Temple through the Shabad, the Guru's Word. Keep the Naam of the One close, and hold it with care.

The holiest place you will ever look for is already inside you.
The deeper layer

The holiest temple you could look for is already with you, and the Guru's Word shows you the way in.

The whole shabad rings on one phrase, har mandar, the Temple of the One. Guru Amar Das moves it from a building to your own body, and then to the whole world. Har mandar sabday khojee-ai: the Temple is found through the Word, the Shabad. Har naamo layho samHaal: keep the Naam close, the way you hold something precious in both hands.

A Question to Sit With

Where have you been looking for something special, when it might be right inside you?
