Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Understanding the Shabad, I have found peace, and I love the True Name.

The Temple of the One is made beautiful by the Guru's Word. It is a fortress of gold that never ends.

Words you take in deeply turn your inner temple to gold.
The deeper layer

Taking in the Guru's Word brings peace, and it makes your inner temple shine like a fortress of gold.

Sabad cheeneh: understanding the Word from within. Kanchan kot apaar: a fortress of gold without end. The Word decorates the inner temple and makes it strong.

A Question to Sit With

What is something you took in so deeply that it changed you?
