This world is the Temple of the Lord; without the Guru, there is only pitch darkness.

The blind and foolish self-willed manmukhs worship in the love of duality. ||5||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

This whole world is the Temple of the One. Without the Guru, it is pitch dark.

People who follow only their own wanting stumble like the blind and foolish. They give their worship to the love of other things.

The whole world is the temple — do not miss it in the dark.
The deeper layer

The whole world is the Temple of the One, and the Guru is the light that lets you see it.

Jagat: the world. GhoranDhaar: pitch darkness. Doojaa bhaa-o: love of a second thing, the pull of the surface of things in place of the One shining through them.

A Question to Sit With

When has a little light helped you see something you had been missing?
