Pleasure and pain, and the condition of this mind, I place before You, Lord. ||6||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
The happy times and the hard times. Everything my mind is going through.
I bring all of it and lay it openly before You.
You can bring the One everything you feel, the hard parts too.
We can bring the One everything we feel, the happy and the hard.
Sookh dookh is man kee birthaa means joy and pain and the whole state of the mind. Tum hee aagai saarnaa means all of it is laid before You.
This is honest prayer. We bring our whole self, not just the good parts. It is like coming home from school and telling your mom everything: the fun, the hard, and the confusing. She wants to hear all of it.
A Question to Sit With
What would it feel like to tell someone everything on your mind?
