Verse 2 of 10

Colored All the Way Through

man tan raataa raam pi-aaray har paraym bhagat ban aa-ee santahu. ||1||
My mind and body are imbued with my Beloved Lord; I have been blessed with loving devotion to the Lord, O Saints. ||1||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

My mind and my body are colored all the way through with the Beloved One.

I have been blessed with loving devotion to the One, O saints.

Loving devotion colors the whole self, inside and out.
The deeper layer

Man tan raataa: mind and body dyed through with the Beloved, the whole self taking on the color. Har praym bhagat ban aa-ee: loving devotion has come to be, has blossomed, as something received rather than manufactured. The refrain santahu (O saints) runs through the whole hymn, speaking to the holy people who share the path.

A Question to Sit With

What is something you love so much it shows in everything you do?
