Verse 7 of 10

The One Woven Through Everyone

ਆਤਮ ਰਾਮੁ ਰਵਿਆ ਸਭ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਕਤ ਆਵੈ ਕਤ ਜਾਈ ਸੰਤਹੁ ॥੫॥
aatam raam ravi-aa sabh antar kat aavai kat jaa-ee santahu. ||5||
The Lord, the Supreme Soul, is permeating within all; what comes, and what goes, O Saints? ||5||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The One, the deepest soul of all, lives inside everyone and everything.

So who is it that comes, and who is it that goes, O saints?

If the One is everywhere, there is nowhere you need to rush to.
The deeper layer

Aatam raam ravi-aa sabh antar — the Supreme Soul pervading within all. If the One is already everywhere, then kat aavai kat jaa-ee — the coming and going, the endless anxious movement — loses its grip. There is nowhere to get to that you are not already held within.

A Question to Sit With

How does it change things to notice that what you seek is already here?
