Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
The One's lotus feet, the One's presence, are the anchor and support of those who serve the One.
The Naam of the endless One is their money, their land and their treasure.
Those who hold the treasure of the Naam enjoy the taste of the One alone.
With every breath they remember the endless One — that is their joy, their beauty and their delight.
The Naam takes away wrongs; it is the one way to set things right. The Naam drives away the fear of death.
Nanak prays: the support of the One's lotus feet is the whole wealth of the One's servant.
Charan kamal, literally "lotus feet," pictures the divine presence one takes shelter in. The Name is nidhaan, an inexhaustible treasure, contrasted with worldly maal milakh (property and land). Punehcharnaa is the deed that makes things right again; here, remembrance itself is the healing act. Fear of death dissolves not by denial but by resting in what does not die.
What do you treasure that no one could ever take from you?
